FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
03/24/2014NOPJF and NOPD are proud to announce the launch of a new public safety initiative - SafeCam NOLA. SafeCam NOLA is a new online service allowing residents and business owners to register their security cameras with NOPD. Surveillance video is increasingly proving to be a valuable tool in solving crime. Video surveillance serves as a means to identify suspects, provide investigators and prosecutors with video evidence, and solve crimes.
Ronal W. Serpas, Superintendent of Police stated, “"In this day and age, the first thing detectives look for when they get to a crime scene is surveillance cameras. Video footage of crimes in many cases is the ultimate key to conviction. Through SafeCam Nola, our residents will be protecting themselves, their property and their neighbors. They'll also be helping our officers to build stronger cases against criminals. Finally, SafeCam NOLA will put our officers in better communication with the people of New Orleans, which will benefit everyone. A police department cannot succeed without the backing of its community."
Help fight crime by registering your home or business security camera today at www.safecamnola.com!
