 Dear UpperHurstville Neighbors:

We have spoken with the Corps of Engineers and Entergy about the Prytania project between Jefferson and Nashville and learned the following:

1. They are working to improve the lighting. The Corps has already set up some temporary lighting for the darker areas of the project. They have obtained approval and are also working with Entergy and the Dept. of Public Works to install up to twenty (20) additional pole lights in the project area. They are moving to expedite this; however, the DPW provides the lights not Entergy. Entergy will install the lights and the Corps is paying for the electricity for the lights.

2. They are reopening Octavia Street at Prytania immediately and anticipate that it will remain open for 2 -3 months.

3. Pitt at Jefferson is open also opened but will close again at some point when they build the concrete junction box.

They hear your complaints and are working to address them. 

For those who do not have access to your driveways, they said that they told their workers to assist you if you have packages or items to carry back and forth to your cars. Do not hesitate to ask for assistance.

On a side note: The detour at Magazine and Jefferson should be lifted by midweek next week to allow less congestion for the holiday season. Shop Magazine!
