Join Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Councilmember Susan G. Guidry at the District A Budgeting for Outcomes Community Meeting
The District A Budgeting for Outcomes Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at the Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis. From 5:30-6:00pm, the City will host a Resource Center where citizens will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with City departments and agencies, and the meeting will begin at 6:00pm. This meeting is an opportunity to express your opinions and concerns with regard to our City's budget directly to Mayor Landrieu and other city leaders, and I encourage all interested citizens to attend.  Our city faces many funding challenges, and mandated expenditures (including the firefighters pension judgment and the OPP and NOPD Federal Consent Decrees) have placed even more strain on our general fund. In these difficult economic times, it is crucial that citizens make their voices heard. 

City Planning Commission Releases Final Draft CZO and Schedules Public Meetings
Since the First Draft CZO was released in 2011, thousands of citizens have attended dozens of public meetings and submitted written comments, and the final draft reflects years of research, revision, and review by the City Planning Commission's staff and consultants in concert with citizen groups, business leaders, and City agencies. The Final Draft CZO is available in full at nola.gov/CPC and is on display in public libraries citywide.

The City Planning Commission will host a series of hearings to collect public comment and consider further changes before the Motion to adopt the Final Draft CZO comes before the City Council for consideration. Citizens are encouraged to attend the public meetings and to submit comments in writing. Written comments should be submitted to CPCinfo@nola.gov by 5pm on Monday, September 1, 2014.

Meetings will take place in the Council Chamber at City Hall and are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, August 26 at 3:00pm*
Tuesday, September 2 at 6:00pm
Tuesday, September 9 at 3:00pm*

*The meetings on Aug. 26 and Sept. 9 will take place following the regularly scheduled City Planning Commission meetings, but will not begin before 3pm.
